Egyptian researcher Mai Mohammed Hassan Mahmoud has

Egyptian researcher Mai Mohammed Hassan Mahmoud has been awarded a PhD from the Department of Quranic Studies and Sciences, for her dissertation titled "Hashiya of Mawla Sinan on the Lights of Revelation and Secrets of Interpretation by Imam Al-Baydawi, by the scholar Mawla Sinan Al-Din Al-Amasi (986 AH) - Critical Edition and Study of the Surahs: Al-Kahf, Al-Mulk, Al-Muzzammil, and Al-Muddathir."

This achievement followed a public defense session for her dissertation, which took place in person on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 5:00 PM Mecca time, at 17 Roshdan Street, Masahah Square, Dokki, Giza City, Greater Cairo, Egypt. The defense was supervised by the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at the main campus of the Islamic University of Minnesota, College of Islamic Studies.

The discussion committee consisted of Dr. Imad Qudari Al-Ayyadi, Head of the Manuscripts Department at the Islamic University of Minnesota, serving as the supervisor and rapporteur; Professor Dr. Abdulrazzeq Al-Bakri, Dean of the College of Islamic Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota, serving as the internal examiner; and Dr. Mohammed Sobhi Mohammed Najm, Lecturer of Comparative Jurisprudence at Al-Azhar University, serving as the external examiner.
