Center for Languages and Translation Organizes English and Spanish Courses
Minnesota, July 3, 2024 - The Center for Languages and Translation at the Islamic University of Minnesota, main center, organized a new introductory course in English, starting from Sunday, June 23, 2023, at 9:00 PM Mecca time.
This course provided a free opportunity to build language skills through five lectures delivered by a specialized English language instructor. The course focused on spoken English skills, enhanced by practical exercises and conversations to increase confidence in using the language. The course featured diverse educational resources and interaction with colleagues from various backgrounds. The distinguished Dr. Ibrahim Salem was chosen to deliver the lectures, and the course was conducted on June 23, 25, 27, 30, with the final lecture on July 2, 2024.
It is worth noting that Dr. Ibrahim Salem is a writer, critic, translator, and editor. He holds a Master's degree in English Language and Literature with distinction and a PhD in English Language and Literature with distinction and first-class honors. He has decades of experience in teaching English and has conducted 40 training courses in language, computer science, and management. He has published numerous books at universities in Egypt, Germany, England, and the United States.
On the other hand, and in a related context, the Center for Languages and Translation launched a level three course in Spanish language courses starting from Wednesday, July 3, 2024. The distinguished Dr. Ali El-Shuboul was chosen to deliver the course lectures.
The Center for Languages and Translation at the Islamic University of Minnesota, main campus, had previously organized a mini-introductory course in Spanish on Thursday and Saturday, June 27 and 29, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Mecca time.
A source at the Center for Languages said at the time that the two lectures delivered by the distinguished Dr. Ali El-Shuboul, Director of the Latin Studies Unit, were a summary of two previous courses conducted in the basics of Spanish language A1 and A2. These two lectures were conducted in the context of preparing and equipping students to participate in the level three B1 course.
Dr. Ali El-Shuboul said that teaching Spanish comes in light of the orientations of the Latin American Studies Unit at the Center for Academic Studies affiliated with the College of Arts and Humanities, one of whose early projects is to prepare researchers in the fields of Latin America and related fields.
It is worth mentioning that the Center for Languages and Translation has previously organized educational courses in several languages, including English, French, Spanish, and Arabic for non-native speakers.
