Islamic University of Minnesota Appoints New Directors for Two Units

As part of its ongoing efforts, the Islamic University of Minnesota, main campus, issued two separate decisions by the university's Vice President, Dr. Omar Ahmed Al-Maqrami. The first decision appointed Dr. Shaimaa Khattab as the Director of the Research and External Relations Unit, while the second decision appointed Mr. Omar Abdulkafi as the Director of the Graduate Student Affairs Unit within the Deanship of Student Affairs.

Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami described the new directors as "worthy of responsibility, Allah willing." In response, Dr. Shaimaa Khattab commented, "Your trust is an honor and a responsibility. We ask Allah, the Almighty, to help us meet this trust and to work always in a spirit of teamwork to elevate the Islamic University, by Allah's will."

Dr. Yasmin Abu Shabana, Director of the Graduate Studies Deanship at the university, congratulated the new directors, asking Allah to grant them "success, guidance, and support in serving the students of the Islamic University and overcoming challenges for them, as we have come to expect from all administrative staff." She expressed her eagerness to cooperate with them and thanked the university administration "for the wise selection of competent and experienced academic staff."

It is noteworthy that a responsible source in the administrative units group within the university community commented on the decisions in a WhatsApp post, stating that they are part of the administration's efforts to enhance academic competencies and develop the administrative and research structures. He emphasized confidence in the scientific competencies and administrative abilities possessed by both appointees, expressing hope that they will contribute through their new roles to support the academic journey and activate the roles of the units they lead to achieve the university's aspirations for institutional excellence and research leadership.
