Bandar Al-Otaibi Obtains PhD in Jurisprudence and Its Principles
November 18, 2024 - Researcher Bandar bin Aaidh bin Sunaitan Al-Otaibi has been awarded a PhD from the Department of Jurisprudence and Its Principles at the College of Sharia and Law, following a public defense of his thesis titled "The Shafi'i Grants in the Vocabulary of Imam Ahmed's School by Imam Mansour Al-Buhuti (1000 AH - 1051 AH) - Study and Verification from the First Chapter on Stone and Philosophy to the End of the Book of Inheritance and Legacies."
The session was held by the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at the main center of the Islamic University of Minnesota on Monday, starting at 4 PM Mecca time. The discussion committee was chaired by Dr. Salah Farraj, Head of the Department of Jurisprudence and Its Principles at the Islamic University of Minnesota. The committee also included Dr. Hamad Al-Mazrouei, Professor of Jurisprudence at Kuwait University, as the supervisor and rapporteur; Dr. Imad Qudri Al-Iyadi, Head of the Manuscripts Department at the Islamic University of Minnesota, as the internal examiner; and Dr. Ahmed Ma’abed Issa, a faculty member at the Islamic University of Minnesota, as the external examiner.
