Asma'a Al-Tarawneh Earns PhD in Law

Researcher Asma'a Aissa Jerad Al-Tarawneh has earned a PhD in law after successfully defending her dissertation titled "The Legal Responsibility of Pharmacists for the Damages of Dispensing Medications in Jordanian Law - A Comparative Study." The defense took place on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 7:00 PM Mecca time, at the Legal Consulting Institution on Salah Salem Street in Cairo, Egypt.
The defense was overseen by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Deanship at the main campus of the Islamic University of Minnesota. The discussion committee was chaired by Dr. Ameer Khalifa, a faculty member at the Islamic University of Minnesota. The committee also included Dr. Mohammed Shuaib Abdul-Maqsood, Associate Professor and Head of the Law Department at the Islamic University, as an internal examiner, and Dr. Ihab Talaat Abdelkhaleq, a visiting faculty member at the Faculty of Law at Tanta University, as an external examiner.
The university's Vice President, Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami, described the discussion as distinguished. In a post, he expressed his gratitude to Dr. Yasmin Abu Shabana, Dean of Graduate Studies, for her excellent supervision and coordination.
