Islamic University of Minnesota Grants Researcher Shauqi Zalani PhD in Jurisprudence

The scientific committee assigned to discuss the thesis of Algerian researcher Shauqi Zalani, titled "Sharia Alternatives to Futures Contracts - A Comparative Jurisprudential Study," has decided to award him a PhD in jurisprudence. This decision was made at the conclusion of the discussion session held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 9:00 PM Mecca time.

The committee consisted of Professor Dr. Mustafa Ahmed Mohammed Hussein, a faculty member at the Islamic University of Minnesota, serving as the supervisor and rapporteur; Professor Dr. Salah Ahmed Faraj, Head of the Department of Jurisprudence and Its Principles at the university, serving as the internal examiner; and Professor Dr. Jamal Mohammed Youssef Touni, Professor of Comparative Jurisprudence at the Faculty of Sharia and Law in Assiut, serving as the external examiner.

It is noteworthy that the discussion was conducted under the direct supervision of the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at the main campus of the Islamic University of Minnesota, in the Department of Jurisprudence and Its Principles, Faculty of Sharia and Law.
