Academic Seminar to Discuss Jurisprudential Rulings on Human Gene Editing
The Deanship of Graduate Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota, in collaboration with the Faculty of Sharia and Law and the Department of Jurisprudence and Its Principles, held an academic seminar on Monday evening via video conferencing to discuss a research proposal addressing emerging jurisprudential issues in the field of human gene editing.
Doctoral researcher Muayad Asaad Mohammed Al-Kara'li presented his proposal titled "Jurisprudential Rulings Related to Human Gene Editing and Their Contemporary Applications," examining the jurisprudential adaptation of these modern technologies and analyzing their applications in light of Sharia objectives and legal controls.
The discussion panel was chaired by Dr. Salah Faraj, Head of the Department of Jurisprudence and Its Principles, and included Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Wardi, Dr. Mubarak Saud, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Madkouri, whose scholarly discussions and methodological observations supported the research direction and developed its content.
