University Releases Detailed Statistics on Graduate Studies Activities in 2023


 

The media center affiliated with the Islamic University of Minnesota – Main Center has revealed a detailed statistical report on the activities of the Deanery of Graduate Studies at the university during the year 2023. The statistics indicated that the number of thesis and dissertation defense sessions reached 27 sessions in five colleges, with the College of Islamic Studies taking the first place with approximately half of the sessions, totaling 13 sessions. The second place in terms of the number of defense sessions was occupied by the College of Education Sciences, despite its relatively recent establishment, with a total of six sessions. This was followed by the College of Sharia and Law with four sessions, the College of Economics and Business Administration with three sessions, and finally the College of Arts and Humanities with only one defense session. No thesis was discussed in the College of Media during the year.

According to the statistics, the Deanery of Graduate Studies held 66 seminar sessions to discuss research plans for master's and doctoral levels across six colleges during the year 2023. The College of Sharia and Law ranked first with 21 seminar sessions, followed by the College of Islamic Studies with 17 sessions. The College of Economics and Business Administration had 15 sessions, while the College of Education Sciences had six sessions. The College of Arts and Humanities had five seminar sessions, and the College of Media had only two sessions, ranking last in the order.

The significant difference between the number of defense sessions and seminar sessions reflects the significant growth in the number of postgraduate students at the university.
