Training Center and Scientific Research Unit Conclude
"Introduction to Scientific Research Methodologies" Course
Islamic University of Minnesota - The Training, Development, and Community Programs Center, in collaboration with the Scientific Research Unit at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center, has concluded the activities of the training course titled "Introduction to Scientific Research Methodologies." The course was held as part of the "Scientific Research Pioneers" program, which aims to build the capacities of students and young researchers.
The course lectures, which spanned four sessions from September 1 to 10, 2025, were delivered by Professor Dr. Khalaf Abdulazeem Al-Miri, a professor of Modern and Contemporary History and the former Head of the History Department at Ain Shams University. The course was moderated by Dr. Shaimaa Asadallah Khattab, Director of the Scientific Research Unit and the External Relations Unit at the university.
The course witnessed a significant turnout from university students across various specializations. It focused on providing them with the necessary methodological foundations for preparing graduation projects and developing academic analysis skills, under the supervision of a select group of specialized experts.
The training sessions covered four main themes:
An introduction to research methodologies and the ethics of a scientific researcher.
The importance of the integration of sciences within the research framework.
Academic referencing and citation of sources and documents.
Handling appendices and preparing bibliographies.
The course aimed to qualify students to prepare research papers and theses according to a solid methodology, develop their documentation skills, formulate results and recommendations, in addition to equipping them with effective academic presentation skills.
At the end of the event, certified certificates were awarded to the participants who completed the program, affirming the knowledge and practical value this training experience added to their academic journey.
