Training, Development Organizes Training Course on Digital Safety
The Training, Development, and Community Programs Center at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center, organized a specialized training course entitled “How to Stay Safe Digitally?”, as part of the program “Digital Skills and Artificial Intelligence for Non-Specialists.” The initiative comes within the university’s efforts to raise awareness of digital security and promote safe use of modern technologies.
The course was delivered by Professor and Engineer Dr. Yasser Al-Malek, while the program was managed and organized by Engineer Al-Mu’tasem Faiz, Director of the Training, Development, and Community Programs Center, who supervised its implementation and ensured alignment with the approved training objectives.
The course was conducted over three sessions: the first on Sunday, December 7, 2025, followed by the second on Tuesday, December 9, and the third on Thursday, December 11, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Makkah time via the Zoom video conferencing platform.
The course targeted university students both on-campus and online, as well as anyone interested in digital security. It focused on enhancing digital security awareness, identifying cyber fraud techniques, and developing personal protection skills in the digital space.
Key topics covered included creating strong passwords, protection against viruses and cyber-attacks, and safeguarding online privacy, contributing to improved digital safety for all participants.
Participation in the course was free, with certificates of attendance provided according to the approved regulations. Certificates were granted free of charge to enrolled university students, while a nominal fee was applied for participants from outside the university.
This course is part of a series of training programs organized by the Training, Development, and Community Programs Center, supporting the university’s mission to disseminate digital knowledge and build technical capacities in line with modern-day requirements.
