Official Statistics Reveal Student Nationalities and Numbers for Summer Semester

The News Editorial Department has obtained official statistics regarding the students of the summer semester, detailing their nationalities, as well as their numbers by nationality, gender, departments, and colleges.
According to the statistics obtained from the Graduate Student Affairs Unit, the summer semester master's students, numbering 400, come from fifty countries. Saudi Arabia ranks first with 52 students, followed by Egypt with 48, then Somalia with 41. Other nationalities include Djibouti 39, Yemen 36, Syria 33, Sudan 12, the United States 11, Nigeria 11, Jordan 9, Chad 9, Kenya 7, Mali 7, Palestine 7, the Philippines 6, Canada 5, Pakistan 5, India 4, Bangladesh 4, Afghanistan 4, Algeria 3, Iraq 3, Lebanon 3, Benin 3, Ethiopia 3, Ghana 3, Kuwait 2, Tunisia 2, Morocco 2, Indonesia 2, Eritrea 2, Cameroon 2, Burundi 2, Australia 2, Germany 2, Libya 1, Senegal 1, American Samoa 1, France 1, Tanzania 1, Norway 1, Mauritania 1, Sri Lanka 1, Sierra Leone 1, Guinea 1, Balochistan 1, Niger 1, Burkina Faso 1, and others 1.
For doctoral students, totaling 141, they belong to 34 nationalities, with Saudi Arabia again in first place with 20 students, followed by Egypt with 18, and both Yemen and Somalia with 13 each. Other nationalities include Djibouti 8, Syria 7, Nigeria 6, Ethiopia 5, Jordan 4, Sudan 4, Kenya 4, Pakistan 3, Chad 3, the Philippines 3, the United States 3, Palestine 2, Bangladesh 2, Algeria 2, Benin 2, France 2, Canada 2, Nepal 2, Mali 2, India 1, Cameroon 1, Mauritania 1, Norway 1, Tunisia 1, Thailand 1, Niger 1, Australia 1, Turkey 1, Morocco 1, and Indonesia 1.
Regarding gender, the majority of master’s students are male, with 277 students, while there are 123 female students. In the doctoral program, males also outnumber females, with 110 students compared to 31 females.
When examining the number of students in each department, the Quranic Studies and Sciences department ranks first in the master's program with 46 students, followed by the Business Administration department with 44, and the Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh department with 40. In the doctoral program, the Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh department and the Business Administration department tie for first place with 14 students each.
In terms of colleges, the College of Islamic Studies ranks first in the number of graduate students (master’s and doctoral) with 124 students, followed by the College of Sharia and Law with 122, and the College of Economics and Business Administration with 104.
For undergraduate summer semester students, they belong to 64 nationalities, with Yemen in first place with 657 students, followed by Syria with 153, and Saudi Arabia with 83. Other nationalities include Egypt 82, Nigeria 75, Djibouti 69, and others.
The statistics indicate that there are more female students in the undergraduate summer semester, totaling 1,058, compared to 724 male students.
In terms of departments, the Business Administration department ranks first with a total of 320 students.
These statistics highlight the diversity of nationalities among students, encompassing over 64 countries from five continents, reflecting the cultural diversity and academic depth of the university.
