Minnesota, USA - Thousands of students at the Islamic University of Minnesota headed to hundreds of classrooms across dozens of academic departments within eight colleges, marking the beginning of the first semester of the new academic year 1447 AH / 2026 CE.

This launch was preceded by intensive efforts, starting with the announcement from the Admissions and Registration Deanship regarding the opening of registration, which became evident at the end of the summer semester. Confirming these efforts, meetings were held with the councils of the colleges, departments, and supporting deanships, culminating in the announcement of the academic calendar for the new year. Faculty members returned to the university on Tuesday, 21 Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH (June 17, 2025), prior to the publication of class schedules and course registration on Saturday, 25 Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH (June 21, 2025).

Additionally, the university held a welcoming ceremony for new students on Wednesday, 29 Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH (June 25, 2025), in preparation for the official start of classes on Saturday, 3 Muharram 1447 AH (June 28, 2025).

It is worth noting that the last date for registration for the first semester is Friday, 23 Muharram 1447 AH (July 18, 2025).
