Al-Alimi Emphasizes Importance of Integrating Academic Knowledge and Practical Experience

Minnesota, USA - At the conclusion of the reception for first-semester students, Saudi businessman and student Turki Al-Alimi, from the College of Economics and Business at the Islamic University of Minnesota, delivered a speech highlighting the importance of blending practical experience with academic knowledge. He explained that any businessman, no matter their achievements, needs academic knowledge to enhance their career.
Al-Alimi stressed that businessmen should not be satisfied with just a bachelor's degree; they should pursue graduate studies and continue their education through training courses, workshops, and lectures.
He began his remarks by discussing the successes he has achieved and the experiences he has gained in the world of finance and business, before explaining why he chose the Islamic University of Minnesota. He expressed gratitude for joining the university, praising its organized system and quality curriculum, and noted that he has begun applying what he has learned in his professional field.
In response to his remarks, the Director of Undergraduate Student Affairs, Mr. Sulaiman Maqbool, praised Al-Alimi for his dedication and diligence, despite his many commitments as a businessman. The director commended his character and respect for the sanctity of knowledge, confirming that he attended 98% of lectures. He encouraged all students to embody these qualities and to take inspiration from successful role models in their pursuit of education.
