Training Workshop to Enhance Faculty Readiness
The Educational Rooms and Audio Recordings Unit at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center conducted a training workshop on the evening of Thursday, March 26, 2026, targeting faculty members and department heads as part of the technical and academic preparations for the upcoming summer semester, particularly for those assigned to teach graduate studies courses.
The workshop aimed to strengthen the readiness of the academic staff and enhance their ability to manage online lectures by training participants on the mechanisms for delivering lectures through the Zoom platform and regulating the related technical and organizational aspects, thereby ensuring the quality of the educational process as classes resume after the Eid holiday.
The workshop focused on standardizing the approved procedures for managing virtual lectures, explaining the key technical requirements that faculty members must fulfill before the beginning of the semester, and providing practical guidance to ensure that lectures proceed efficiently and smoothly.
In this context, Dr. Norhan Salama, Dean of Faculty Affairs, called on all concerned faculty members to attend the workshop at the scheduled time, emphasizing that it was organized in coordination with the Deanship of Academic Affairs and was intended for faculty members teaching courses during the summer semester.
She stressed that attendance at the workshop was mandatory because of its direct importance in enabling faculty members to deliver their lectures in accordance with the approved procedures, noting that classes would officially resume on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
For her part, Dr. Zainab Bassiouni, Vice Deputy Rector of the university, emphasized the importance of all faculty members attending the workshop, given its role as a fundamental step in organizing the delivery of lectures through educational platforms and ensuring the quality of academic performance.
She also called on department heads to follow up on faculty members’ participation in the workshop and to ensure their technical and academic readiness before the start of classes, affirming that the workshop forms part of the practical preparation needed to guarantee a strong and well-organized beginning to the summer semester.
The workshop comes as part of a series of measures undertaken by the Islamic University of Minnesota to further develop the online learning environment and create a supportive academic atmosphere that serves both students and faculty members alike.
