Academic Affairs Launches New Electronic System
The Academic Affairs at the Islamic University of Minnesota has introduced an electronic system to monitor academic lectures in real-time, according to an announcement by Dr. Osama Abdulrahman Awuf, Dean of Academic and Educational Affairs at the university.
This new system aims to ensure that lectures are delivered on time and operates by using Google links that allow department heads to monitor both completed and missed lectures. Based on this information, a rescheduled lecture is arranged with the respective course instructor at the earliest available opportunity, and it is monitored until the makeup lecture is conducted.
The Dean explained that the data from this system will be monitored by Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami, Vice President of the University, and the deans of the colleges. The data will be updated under the supervision of Professor Iman Abdulaziz with the assistance of the seven college deans, under the supervision of the Dean of Academic and Educational Affairs, led by the Dean and in collaboration with Dr. Jumana Al-Khrashi, Director of the Educational Affairs Unit.
The Dean emphasized that this system is a gift from the Academic Affairs to the department heads and college deans, reflecting the university's commitment to improving the quality of education and academic supervision. It is planned to enhance this mechanism in future semesters after reviewing, developing, and addressing any deficiencies that may exist.
