Meeting to Discuss Academic Challenges
Dr. Osama Abdulrahman Aouf, Dean of Academic Affairs at the Islamic University of Minnesota, held a meeting with the Educational Affairs Unit on Monday, September 23, 2024, in the presence of all college secretaries at the university.
Iman Abdulaziz, Secretary of the College of Media, mentioned that the meeting addressed the major challenges faced by the secretaries during the first semester, and aimed to develop an effective plan to improve performance in the upcoming semesters.
During the meeting, the Dean emphasized the importance of maintaining the functional hierarchy in academic affairs, particularly regarding issues related to faculty members. He stressed the need to inform him directly of any issues with faculty members, as he would handle them in collaboration with department heads. As for issues related to secretaries, students, or the overall educational process, the Dean directed that they be reported to the Director of the Educational Affairs Unit, Dr. Jumana Al-Kharashi, who would address them or refer them to the relevant authority.
Ms. Iman discussed several topics raised by Dr. Jumana, including compiling costs at all levels and submitting a detailed report by the end of the week, monitoring students who have been denied privileges, preparing a nomination file for exemplary students from each academic level, in addition to submitting regular attendance and absence reports, and following up with absent students to check on their status.
