Educational Affairs Unit Hosts Ceremony to Honor Ideal Secretaries

The Educational Affairs Unit of the Academic Affairs and Educational Administration at Minnesota Islamic University held a ceremony on Saturday, March 15, 2025, to honor those awarded the title of "Ideal Secretary" from the various departmental secretaries, via a general WhatsApp group for the secretaries.

The ceremony commenced at 10 PM Mecca time, with an opening speech by program host Ms. Iman Abdulaziz, followed by an introductory address by Ms. Dhuha Al-Malqi. This was followed by a recitation from the Quran by student Muhi Al-Din. The event's patron, Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami, the university's vice president and head of the main center, then delivered a speech expressing his gratitude to all the secretaries for their efforts, describing them as the lifeblood of the educational process. He emphasized the significant responsibilities they carry and expressed confidence in their ability to meet these challenges, concluding his remarks by thanking the Educational Affairs Unit and wishing all secretaries well.

In his speech, the vice president expressed heartfelt thanks to the loyal secretaries, stating, "With your high dedication and unwavering determination, you present wonderful examples of how to uphold and carry duties. May God bless you and make you a beacon of knowledge and a guide to goodness."

Dr. Zainab Basyouni, Deputy Dean of the university, then addressed the secretaries with pride and appreciation, praising their dedication and commitment to their roles. She also thanked the vice president and the Academic Affairs and Educational Administration.

Dr. Osama Abdulrahman, Dean of Academic Affairs, emphasized in his remarks the importance of honoring the ideal secretaries, commending their performance, which contributed to achieving a lecture attendance rate exceeding 99% in the second semester.

The ceremony also featured a video produced by the media center that included distinguished praise for the secretaries, followed by the presentation of certificates of honor to the ideal secretaries, with one secretary from each college receiving the title.

Afterward, Mr. Sulaiman Maqbool, Director of Undergraduate Student Affairs, addressed all the secretaries, thanking them for their efforts and describing them as the backbone of the educational system. Ms. Omaima Adel, Director of Graduate Student Affairs, also spoke, highlighting the spirit of cooperation and determination embodied by the secretaries.

Dr. Jumana Al-Kharashi, Director of the Educational Affairs Unit, concluded the speeches by praising the secretaries as guides for students throughout their educational journey.

At the end of the event, certificates of appreciation were awarded to several officials and college secretaries, along with recognition for those awarded the title of "Ideal Secretary" from various departments.

The celebration lasted nearly three hours, ending just five minutes before 1 AM Mecca time.
