IUM Launches New Mechanism to Honor Outstanding Faculty Members

The Deanship of Academic and Educational Affairs at the Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center has announced the adoption of a new mechanism to honor outstanding faculty members during the first semester of the current academic year, in recognition of their efforts and contributions to the success of the educational process.

The Deanship explained that this initiative comes in acknowledgment of the vital role played by faculty in enhancing students’ academic achievement. Department chairs have been instructed to submit nominations according to specific criteria, including accurate details about each nominee such as their college, department, academic rank, and the courses they taught.

It emphasized that nominees should have completed their lectures regularly, delivered course material using effective teaching methods, and maintained consistent communication with students to facilitate their understanding of the content.

For his part, Dr. Osama Abdulrahman, Dean of Academic and Educational Affairs, affirmed that this step reflects the university’s commitment to fostering a culture of academic excellence and recognizing the sincere efforts that contribute to advancing the educational process. He noted that all nominations will undergo careful review before being approved, and honorees will receive a special recognition to encourage continued dedication.

The Deanship stressed that this initiative represents a symbolic gesture of appreciation for faculty members and demonstrates the university’s commitment to creating a modern learning environment rooted in quality and excellence.
