Political Studies Unit Holds First Meeting

 The Political Studies Unit, affiliated with the Center for Academic Studies at the College of Arts and Humanities at the Islamic University of Minnesota, held its first meeting in the presence of Dr. Ismail Hamed, Dean of the College and Head of the Center, Dr. Osama Abdulrahman Aouf, Dean of Academic Affairs at the University, and Dr. Faiza Khattab, Head of the Department of Political Science at the College, in addition to faculty members in the Department of Political Science.

The meeting began with a welcome speech by Dr. Khaled Mohammed Atiya, Head of the Political Studies Unit, followed by a speech by Dr. Faiza Khattab, Head of the Department of Political Science, in which she praised the efforts made to launch the unit and stressed the importance of the combined efforts of the trainers affiliated with the unit for its success.

Dr. Ismail Hamed gave a speech in which he highlighted the importance of the Political Studies Unit and praised the leadership of the unit, trainers, and faculty members in the Department of Political Science. He discussed with the attendees the objectives of the unit, the diplomas and courses that it will implement, and the scientific and financial benefits of it.

The Dean stressed the need to specialize in giving diplomas and courses, naming and distributing the axes temporally, and appointing three advisors by the head of the unit. He ordered the Center for Academic Studies to be provided with the diplomas and courses by the trainers affiliated with the unit.

Hamed discussed the great benefits of establishing the Political Studies Unit and the Center for Academic Studies, especially the financial return on faculty members, students, trainees, and those interested from outside the university. He called for the inclusion of all faculty members who wish to join the unit to offer courses according to their specialization and experience.

The meeting concluded with a speech by the Head of the Department of Political Science, Dr. Faiza Khattab, in which she renewed her praise for the faculty members and trainers and commended the proposals and files that were discussed.
