Ismail Hamed Represents the University at Two International Conferences

With official invitations from the University of Basel in Switzerland and a Moroccan organization, Dr. Ismail Hamed, Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, participated in two distinguished international conferences.

At the international scientific conference organized by the Institute of African Studies at the University of Basel, Dr. Ismail presented a paper titled "The Image of Hero in the Medieval Darfur Society." This invitation was extended based on the university's knowledge of his specialization in African studies and the history of Islam in sub-Saharan Africa.

Dr. Ismail emphasized his commitment to representing the Islamic University of Minnesota in all conference-related documents and activities, highlighting the importance of mentioning the university's name at every opportunity. He provided us with several documents, including the conference program listing the participants and the official invitation from the University of Basel.

Later, Dr. Ismail also participated in the first international conference titled "Pedagogies of Violence in the Contemporary World," organized by the Moroccan Organization for the Protection and Care of Childhood in partnership with the International Impact Academy. Dr. Ismail chaired the second session of the first day of the conference, held on July 21 and 22, 2024.

These participations reflect the university's efforts to enhance its academic presence at international conferences and seminars, with Dr. Ismail previously representing the university at conferences and lectures in Kuwait and Morocco.
