Political Science Department Holds Series of Meetings

The Political Science Department at the College of Arts and Humanities at the Islamic University of Minnesota, chaired by Dr. Khalid Atiyah, held a meeting on Tuesday, Jumada al-Thani 23, 1446 AH, corresponding to December 24, 2024. The meeting included faculty members and focused on several key topics, primarily the feasibility study for updating the curriculum for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs.

Dr. Khalid began the meeting by welcoming the attendees and proceeded to discuss the agenda items. He assured the continuation of discussions on this topic in future meetings, concluding the session by thanking the faculty members for their efforts and exchanging expressions of gratitude among them in an atmosphere of love and respect.

Attendees included: Dr. Bahaa Al-Din, Dr. Saber Al-Beltaji, Dr. Huda Mohammed, Dr. Hadi Barham, Dr. Asmaa Ghoneim, Dr. Al-Rashid Ahmed Moussa, Dr. Shaimaa Khattab, Dr. Mohamed Maghawry, and Ms. Samira Al-Saghir, the administrative affairs officer for the college.

In a second meeting held on Tuesday, Rajab 7, 1446 AH, corresponding to January 7, 2025, discussions were devoted to the feasibility of adding specialized tracks within the Political Science Department. The news management obtained a copy of a memorandum submitted to Dr. Ismail Hamid, Dean of the College, which included recommendations from Dr. Khalid regarding the curricula. These recommendations encompassed rearranging current courses, adding new subjects, and eliminating redundant materials.

The third meeting took place on Tuesday, Rajab 21, 1446 AH, corresponding to January 21, 2025, where Dr. Atiyah continued the discussion on recommendations related to the introduction of minor specializations and identifying suitable courses for each specialization across all academic levels.

The meeting was attended by: Dr. Bahaa Al-Din, Dr. Huda Mohammed, Dr. Hadi Barham, Dr. Hind Mahrous Al-Jaldawi, and Ms. Salwa Al-Khouli, reflecting the department's commitment to enhancing educational curricula to meet the needs of students and their specializations.
