Department of Political Science Holds Extensive Meeting
On Sunday, August 31, 2025, the Head of the Department of Political Science, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khaled Atiyah, held an extensive meeting attended by the Deputy Head of the Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bahaa Al-Din Abdrabbuh, several faculty members, and the Administrative Affairs Director, Mr. Anas Al-Sayar.
The meeting reviewed a number of important topics on the agenda, including difficulties in grade reporting for students, the possibility of faculty members submitting grades directly, ways to update the university's online portal, and developmental proposals concerning the department and the curriculum.
During the discussions, attendees emphasized the importance of facilitating grade reporting procedures to ensure accuracy and speed, while establishing transparent controls for the grade submission process. They also discussed the necessity of updating the online portal to provide more accessible and effective academic services.
Several developmental proposals were put forward, including organizing English language courses and diplomas to qualify faculty members, coordinating a joint scientific seminar that brings together professors from Islamic universities across different countries, increasing the duration of lectures to achieve a broader understanding of the curriculum, providing greater flexibility for faculty in selecting courses within the university textbook project, reviewing lecture schedules to accommodate the circumstances of students and faculty, ensuring faculty adherence to attendance and the timetable, and reviewing tuition costs and adjusting them according to approved academic standards.
At the conclusion of the meeting, recommendations were made to adopt the proposed procedures to facilitate the grade reporting process, initiate the study and implementation of developmental courses and programs, and conduct a comprehensive review of the online portal's functionality to ensure the improvement of academic services.
