Department of Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Holds Its Regular Meeting

The Department of Arabic for Non-Native Speakers at the College of Arts and Humanities, Islamic University of Minnesota – Main Center – held its regular meeting, chaired by Prof. Ali El-Shboul, and attended by the University Vice-Provost Dr. Zainab Bassiouni, along with faculty members. The meeting focused on academic and administrative issues aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching within the department.

During the session, participants reviewed the current curricula and their descriptions, unanimously agreeing to introduce development-oriented updates to the content in order to elevate program quality and improve learning outcomes.

The meeting also approved the adoption of a comprehensive operational plan aligned with the department’s future vision, outlining clear priorities and work mechanisms to achieve its academic goals.

In the same context, faculty members emphasized the importance of continuously updating educational programs to meet student needs and respond to language-learning demands, highlighting the role of effective communication with students in fostering a motivating educational environment.

The meeting concluded with several actionable recommendations, most notably the immediate implementation of the proposed curriculum revisions, preparation of a detailed action plan to achieve operational and academic objectives, and the adoption of a periodic evaluation mechanism to ensure enhanced efficiency of the educational process within the department.
