Faculty of Educational Sciences Council Discusses Promotions with University Vice President

Minnesota, July 3, 2024 : The Faculty of Educational Sciences Council at the Islamic University of Minnesota held its regular meeting chaired by Dr. Abdullah Abdulnabi, Dean of the Faculty and Chairman of the Council, and in the presence of the University Vice President and Head of the Main Center, Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Abdullah Abdulnabi welcomed the University Vice President, who responded to the welcome by praising the efforts of the Dean, members of the Faculty Council, Heads of Departments and their deputies, the College's Vice Dean, and the Head of Administrative Affairs in the College, Dr. Nourhan Salama.

The Dean of the Faculty opened the discussion on the subject of promotions in the Faculty, leaving the floor open for the Heads of Departments to present their proposals.

Dr. Hiba Abu Ayyada, Head of the Educational Administration Department, proposed the formation of an internal arbitration committee for promotions instead of external examiners, with fees for arbitration, and that the arbitration of applications for faculty members in the college be done free of charge through an internal committee.

The University Vice President welcomed the proposal for the internal committee, to be presented to the Council of Deans of Faculties for discussion. Regarding the promotions of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, the Vice President explained that he will coordinate with the Dean on the formation of a committee headed by the Dean of the Faculty and including members with scientific ranks from within the Faculty, which will be linked to the Central Promotions Committee. Al-Maqrami expressed his constant readiness to listen to any proposals or problems related to the Faculty, noting the need for a continuous media publicity program for the Faculty's departments.

Dr. Anas Nawafleh, Head of the Department of Educational Psychology, presented other proposals, including the establishment of paid conferences for a nominal fee for students, and the publication of faculty research in the university's journal as a form of incentive.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Laith Zawahreh, Vice President of the Department of Family Counseling, welcomed the University Vice President, thanking him for his efforts, the Dean's efforts, and the efforts of the Head of Administrative Affairs, Dr. Nourhan Salama.

The meeting was attended, in addition to the University Vice President Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami and the Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences Dr. Abdullah Abdulnabi, by:
