College of Educational Sciences Council Approves Formation of Editorial Board
The Council of the College of Educational Sciences at the Islamic University of Minnesota has approved the formation of an editorial board for the "Educational Sciences Journal," with Professor Abdullah Abdulnabi as Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Hiba Tawfiq Abu Ayadah as Deputy Editor, and Dr. Anas Adheibat as Secretary.
The decision was made during the council's regular meeting, chaired by Professor Abdullah Abdulnabi, Dean of the College, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 9 PM Mecca time. The council also voted to establish a committee of reviewers for research, consisting of department heads, their deputies, and several faculty members from various departments.
The council reviewed models of peer-reviewed journals from other colleges within the university and approved a plan to finalize all aspects related to the journal, with an announcement of its readiness set for early January 2025. Additionally, it was approved to allow graduate students to contribute by publishing their research in the journal.
Beyond the journal, the council discussed several other topics, including enhancing cooperation between department heads and the Deanship of Graduate Studies, headed by Dr. Yasmin Abu Shabana, and discussing seminars before their approval by the department council. In this context, Dean Professor Abdullah Abdulnabi urged department heads to encourage their students to attend the scientific seminar sessions for their benefit.
The dean also reviewed the progress of the educational process within the college, expressing satisfaction with faculty members' commitment to conducting lectures, and spoke about upcoming promotions for some faculty members. The dean adopted a voting approach to approve what was discussed during the meeting.
Attending the meeting alongside the dean were Dr. Hiba Abu Ayadah, Head of the Educational Administration Department; Dr. Mohammed Hosni, Head of the Curriculum and Teaching Methods Department; Dr. Dua Qatnani, Head of the Educational Sciences Department; Dr. Safaa Mashaqbeh, Deputy Head of the Educational Sciences Department; Dr. Ali Dawahdeh, Deputy Head of the Educational Psychology Department; Dr. Khetam Al-Tawalbeh, Deputy Head of the Early Childhood Department; Dr. Anas Odheibat, faculty member in the Curriculum and Teaching Methods Department; and Dr. Noorhan Salama, Administrative Affairs Officer of the College of Educational Sciences.
