University Textbook Preparation Holds Its First Meeting

In a strategic move aimed at enhancing the independence of academic content and unifying scientific references, the University Textbook Preparation Committee at the College of Educational Sciences of the Islamic University of Minnesota held its first meeting on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM Mecca time, chaired by Dr. Mohammed Hosni, Head of the Curriculum and Teaching Methods Department and Chair of the Committee.
Dr. Mohammed Hosni began the meeting with a welcoming speech, expressing his gratitude and appreciation for the committee members' commitment to attending the meeting, highlighting the importance of the project in developing the educational process at the university. He also welcomed the esteemed Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Abdulnabi, and Dr. Nourhan Salama, Head of Administrative Affairs, emphasizing the college's full support for this initiative.
For her part, Dr. Nourhan Salama expressed her strong confidence in this ambitious academic project, confirming that it will represent a qualitative leap in the university's scientific and educational trajectory. She also praised the committee's efforts and its pursuit of excellence in preparing academic references that carry the university's identity.
The meeting discussed the establishment of a comprehensive plan for preparing university textbooks at the academic department level, based on course descriptions. The committee also explored the formation of scientific committees within the departments, consisting of two or three members as needed, responsible for preparing or compiling and documenting the scientific material. The attendees agreed to work on producing original scientific content, either through new authorship or by relying on credible sources documented according to academic standards. They also agreed on a phased timeline for completing the preparation of books, divided into three main phases: September 1, 2025; December 1, 2025; and March 1, 2026.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Mohammed Hosni announced that the committee would hold a follow-up meeting soon to assess progress made at the departmental level, affirming that the work is progressing in a spirit of teamwork and a determination to deliver a knowledge product worthy of the university's name. The esteemed Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Abdulnabi, concluded with a closing statement, expressing his deep gratitude to the Chair and members of the committee, commending their efforts, and reinforcing his belief that this project will mark a significant milestone in the college's academic journey.
