College of Educational Sciences Council Discusses Academic Workflow and New Faculty Appointments
Islamic University of Minnesota - The periodic meeting of the College of Educational Sciences Council was held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 9:00 PM Makkah time. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Abdullah Abdulnabi, Dean of the College.
The meeting lasted for half an hour due to a lack of quorum. The Dean emphasized the importance of the council members' commitment to attendance and active participation, stressing that he will address this matter in the next session due to the importance of maintaining the regularity of the council's work.
During the meeting, the council discussed several topics on the agenda, most notably monitoring the academic and administrative workflow in the college, ensuring the stability of the academic departments, and discussing the modification of two courses in the Curriculum and Instruction Department on the university's platform.
The council also addressed the recent resignations within the college and the efforts of the Deanship of Faculty Affairs in making new appointments to resolve the issue. The Dean clarified that he would submit a letter to the university administration to discuss the resignations and related financial dues. In the same context, the council discussed the reasons for the resignations with Dr. Duaa Qattnani, Head of the Department of Educational Sciences, and Dr. Anas Nawafleh, Head of the Department of Educational Psychology.
The council praised Dr. Duaa Qattnani's initiative to cover three lectures on behalf of a faculty member who was traveling. The council also highlighted the need to follow up on the progress of the college's journal publication, pending coordination from the Scientific Research Unit. The university textbook project was also discussed, with plans to issue the first book for each of the college's departments. The council chairman extended his thanks to Dr. Nourhan Salama, in her capacity as Dean of Faculty Affairs, for her efforts in supporting the college with new appointments and overseeing the work of the seven departments.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Dean commended the efforts of the department heads, faculty members, and relevant administrative staff, emphasizing the importance of teamwork to advance the college's mission and achieve its academic and scientific goals.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdullah Abdulnabi, Dean of the College of Educational Sciences; Dr. Anas Nawafleh, Head of the Department of Educational Psychology; Dr. Duaa Qattnani, Head of the Department of Educational Sciences; and Dr. Nourhan Ibrahim, Administrative Affairs Officer for the College of Educational Sciences.
