Appointment of Marian Tadros as Deputy Head of Graduate Studies

Professor Abdulsalam Al-Wahati, Dean of the College of Media at the Islamic University of Minnesota, issued a decision appointing Dr. Marian Elia Tadros as the Deputy Head of the Graduate Studies Department on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

In his comments on this decision, Professor Al-Wahati stated that "the selection of leadership is based on a strategic vision that stems from their competencies and academic journey in the college, which is characterized by dedication and creativity, contributing to enhancing the quality of the educational process and developing research programs."

He emphasized that the college operates within an integrated system and according to a methodological vision followed by the university, aiming to advance it at all levels. He urged the college staff to exert more efforts to elevate the college and university to the ranks of major international universities.

In a related context, Professor Al-Wahati conducted a series of interviews on Saturday, April 26, 2025, to appoint new faculty members to join the college staff, with the participation of Dr. Hanan Sobhi Obaid, Head of the Graduate Studies Department and Scientific Deputy to the Dean, and Dr. Badeea Abdulqader, Head of the Bachelor's Program and Administrative Deputy to the Dean.

Professor Al-Wahati had noted in a meeting of the College of Media's small council, which he chaired on Saturday, April 19, that the selection of new staff is based on their experiences and academic competencies, which will enhance the educational process in the college.

He clarified that those selected will receive an appointment decision from the university and will directly engage in training courses to develop their skills in dealing with the university’s systems and educational platform, as well as teaching methods in the college. He emphasized the importance of being familiar with the university’s laws and regulations to ensure the college's and university's continued excellence at the administrative, educational, and research levels, stating, "Our goal is to keep pace with global universities and the rapidly evolving international landscape."
