College of Media Announces Appointment of New Faculty Members
The College of Media at the Islamic University of Minnesota has announced the appointment of a new group of faculty members, in a move aimed at enhancing its academic and research programs and advancing the quality of education. The announcement was made by the Dean of the College, Professor Abdulsalam Al-Wahati, following a series of professional interviews held on Monday evening, December 8, 2025.
The interviews, conducted from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., were attended by Dr. Hanan Sobhi Obaid, Head of the Graduate Studies Department and Academic Deputy Dean, and Dr. Badi’a Abdulkader, Head of the Undergraduate Department and Administrative Deputy Dean. The sessions included in-depth academic discussions with the candidates and a thorough evaluation of their qualifications and academic experience, based on standards of competence, specialization, and departmental needs.
The selection resulted in the appointment of Dr. Naglaa Mostafa Mahmoud, Dr. Mohammed Hassani Younis Ali, Lecturer Shaimaa Naeem Hamsh, Lecturer Rufaida Hatem Gouda Al-Shazly, and Lecturer Aya Mohammed Bassem Abdelghani. They will join the college’s academic staff, reflecting the college’s commitment to attracting distinguished talent capable of contributing to the development of media programs and supporting scientific research.
Professor Al-Wahati emphasized that the selection was based on the candidates’ extensive expertise and strategic vision, which will enhance the quality of the educational process. Official appointment decisions will be issued shortly, followed by specialized training programs to develop their skills in university systems and educational platforms, alongside training in the latest teaching methodologies.
The Dean also stressed the importance of the new faculty members adhering to university policies and regulations, ensuring the sustainability of the college’s excellence across academic, administrative, and research domains, while keeping pace with rapid global developments in higher education and digital media.
Professor Al-Wahati concluded by affirming that the College of Media operates within an integrated framework with a clear vision for advancing the college and university, calling on all faculty members to continue their efforts and innovation to elevate academic standards and achieve a leading position among international universities.
