Business and Economics Faculty Council Discusses Constructive Proposals

The Business and Economics Faculty Council at the Islamic University of Minnesota, Main Campus, held its first meeting of the first semester of the new academic year 2024-2025, chaired by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Shireen Ma'moun, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

Dr. Ma'moun opened the meeting by welcoming the council members and thanking them for their efforts in preparing for the first semester. She stressed the importance of professors being present in the subject groups on WhatsApp, providing them with curricula, and urging them to use PowerPoint presentations and speak in clear Arabic for the ease of understanding of the students.

The council discussed several constructive proposals, most notably: Holding an international conference for the faculty soon, Organizing a qualifying training course for students, Opening new specializations in line with the labor market, and Changing the name of the Department of Islamic Economics to the Department of Economics and Islamic Banking and providing the appropriate plans and curricula for it.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Hiyam Al-Zaabi, Vice Dean of the Faculty and Head of the Department of Islamic Economics, Dr. Mohammed Younis, Head of the Department of Business Administration, Dr. Mohammed Qarshi, Deputy Head of the Department of Accounting, and Ms. Banan Saif, Head of Administrative Affairs at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.
