Dean of the Faculty of Economics Holds Meeting with Faculty Members
Dr. Shireen Mamoun, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at the Islamic University of Minnesota, held a meeting with the faculty members on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, following her chairing of the Faculty Council meeting held on Tuesday, July 9.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Mamoun welcomed the faculty members and thanked them for their efforts in the previous semester, especially welcoming the new professors.
The meeting focused on preparations for the launch of the first semester of the new academic year 24-2025. Dr. Mamoun emphasized the importance of the following points: the presence of the professor in the WhatsApp group for the course, the availability of the syllabus, the necessity of placing the course content on PowerPoint, and speaking in clear and concise Arabic. Dr. Mamoun also explained the university's system and the study mechanism.
Among the other topics discussed by the Dean with the faculty members was the second issue of the (Journal of Economics and Business Administration), in which she invited the members to participate, noting that the first issue of the refereed journal will be published soon. Dr. Mamoun also discussed several other topics of interest to the faculty before concluding the meeting.
The meeting was attended by - in addition to the Dean Dr. Shireen Mamoun - the Vice Dean and Head of the Islamic Economics Department Dr. Hiyam Al-Zaabi, the Head of the Business Administration Department Dr. Mohammed Younis, the Vice Head of the Accounting Department Dr. Mohammed Qurashi, the faculty members of the college, the Administrative Affairs Officer of the college Ms. Banan Saif, and the Secretary of the college Ms. Dhuha Al-Malqi.
