Dean of Faculty of Economics Holds Fourth College Meeting

Minnesota, August 23, 2024 - Dr. Shereen Mamoun, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at the Islamic University of Minnesota, held the fourth meeting of the college since the beginning of the first semester of the academic year 2024-2025, on Friday, August 23, 2024, between 9:00 PM and 10:30 PM Makkah time.  

The dean, Dr. Shereen, began the meeting by welcoming the college council, faculty members, administrative affairs, and the college registrar, before discussing the points included in the meeting agenda, the most prominent of which was the students' midterm exams. The dean stressed the need to clarify the exam method for students in advance, the presence of professors during the exam to monitor students and answer their questions, as well as the need to record exam grades in a timely manner and avoid delays.

Dr. Shereen also expressed her gratitude to the faculty members for completing the lectures and midterm exams on time, and praised the efforts of the Department of Economics and Islamic Banking, led by Dr. Hiyam Al-Zuabi and her deputy, commending the unity of the department's plans and curricula. She also praised the efforts of the University Provost, Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami, and his deputy, Dr. Zainab Bassiouni, in the service of the department's advancement.

Dr. Mohammed Younis, head of the Department of Business Administration and deputy director of the Curriculum Planning and Development Unit, discussed the project of developing university-specific curricula, emphasizing the participation of faculty members in this project through authorship.

The dean concluded the meeting by thanking everyone for their attendance.
