College of Economics and Business Administration Holds Meeting

The Dean of the College of Economics and Business Administration at the Islamic University of Minnesota, Dr. Sherin Mamoun, convened a meeting with the college council and faculty members on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 9 PM Mecca time. This meeting marks the fifth during the first semester of the academic year 2024-2025 / 1446 AH.

Dr. Sherin began the meeting by welcoming all attendees and then moved on to discuss the topics listed in the meeting agenda, with a particular focus on examinations. She addressed several sub-points, including the necessity for faculty members to be present during the exam period to answer student inquiries, as well as how to record exam grades, while also noting additional reminders related to the exams.

A range of topics concerning the beginning of the first semester was also discussed, allowing department heads to express their opinions. The Deputy Dean and Head of the Department of Economics and Islamic Banking, Dr. Hayam Al-Zoubi, spoke about her department's preparations for the final exams and the upcoming second semester. Similarly, the Head of the Department of Business Administration, Dr. Mohammed Younis, shared similar comments regarding his department's readiness, while the Head of the Department of Accounting, Dr. Rafeeda Qamar Al-Dawla, requested a reconsideration of the distribution of self-study grades.

Subsequently, the floor was opened for the deputies of the department heads to discuss their departments' concerns, followed by contributions from faculty members that covered a diverse range of proposals and issues.

Dr. Sherin concluded the meeting by thanking all attendees for responding to the invitation, noting that the meeting lasted for an hour and a half.
