Shihab El-Din Appointed Head of Accounting Department
Minnesota, USA - The Vice President of the Islamic University of Minnesota, Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami, has announced the appointment of Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Shihab El-Din as the new head of the Accounting Department in the College of Economics and Business Administration, effective Sunday, November 3, 2024. This appointment follows Dr. Rafeeda Qamar Al-Dawla.
Dr. Mohammed Shihab El-Din holds a Ph.D. in Strategic Management Accounting, Performance Evaluation, and Digital Governance. He has supervised and participated in the defense of ten doctoral and master’s theses. In terms of scientific publishing, he has completed seven publications and published a reference book on the topic of digital transformation for e-government, released in Gulf countries and the Arab world by the Arab Organization for Administrative Development, affiliated with the Arab League.
Dr. Mohammed is a faculty member, writer, certified international trainer, financial and administrative training consultant, and business developer. He is also an accredited trainer in IFRS, DBA, and MBA programs. He completed a certified human development course at the Canadian Center for Human Development, previously managed by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Faqi, may he rest in peace. He has extensive experience in cost management and reduction, feasibility studies, and is an expert in corporate governance and IT governance (design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation), as well as in predicting financial failure and recovery from losses.
It is noteworthy that the university administration awarded Dr. Rafeeda Qamar Al-Dawla a certificate of appreciation for her outstanding contributions and significant efforts during her tenure as head of the Accounting Department, which greatly contributed to establishing the foundations of the department and the success of the educational process.
