Appointment of Dr. Abbas as Head of Human Resources Department

The Deputy President of the Islamic University of Minnesota, Dr. Omar Ahmed Al-Maqrami, has appointed Dr. Marwan Muwafaq Ghazi Abbas as the Head of the Human Resources Department in the College of Economics and Business Administration. This decision was made on Friday, April 5, 2025.

Dr. Marwan Abbas, a Jordanian born in 1992, currently serves as an Assistant Professor and faculty member in the Business Administration Department at the university. He earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy in Management and Business from UCSI University in Malaysia in 2024, with a specific focus on Human Resource Management.

He also holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Al al-Bayt University in Jordan (2019) and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems and Public Administration from Yarmouk University (2015). Dr. Abbas has experience in the educational sector, both at the school and university levels, since 2015, and has several published research papers in the fields of management and human resource management.

It is noteworthy that the Human Resources Department is one of the new departments announced in conjunction with the opening of registration for the current summer semester.
