Appointment of Khalid Basreeda as Head of Marketing Department

The Vice President of the Islamic University of Minnesota, Dr. Omar Ahmed Al-Maqrami, issued a decision appointing Dr. Khalid Basreeda as the Head of the Marketing Department at the College of Economics and Business Administration, effective Thursday, April 3, 2025.
Doctor Khalid Basreeda holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a specialization in "Strategic Management" from the European International University. He has been a faculty member at the College of Economics and Business Administration at the Islamic University of Minnesota since 2021. Previously, he served as the Head of the Business Administration Department for one year and four months, teaching various courses across all levels and participating in the supervision of doctoral theses and research seminars.
Dr. Basreeda has a strong research background, having worked on over 10 national strategic projects and studies aimed at identifying developmental needs and developing strategies for various topics. He has published and peer-reviewed research on topics related to the strategic positioning of organizations, the effectiveness of communication strategies, and the impact of community change theory on the success of nonprofit organizations.
Basreeda is a leader in the fields of strategy and institutional excellence, with over 25 years of experience in public, private, and nonprofit sectors. He is an expert in strategic planning, strategy implementation, strategic communication, strategic marketing, performance management, and institutional development, with a clear ability to align operational plans with long-term institutional goals.
He has contributed to the success of more than 45 strategic projects in the fields of education, social development, agriculture, industry, investment, healthcare, and tourism. He has held several leadership positions, served on various boards and committees, and has a published management novella in English.
It is noteworthy that the Marketing Department is one of three new departments opened concurrently with the announcement of the summer semester registration.
