Al-Zoabi Holds Dialogue Meeting with Faculty Members

Doctor Hiyam Al-Zoabi, Head of the Islamic Economics and Banking Department at the College of Economics and Business at the Islamic University of Minnesota, held a dialogue meeting with faculty members and students from all three levels of the department on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 9 PM Mecca time.

Dr. Al-Zoabi opened the meeting by welcoming the attendees, emphasizing that the purpose of the gathering was to share experiences and opinions, and to highlight the importance of knowledge, learning, and scientific research in building knowledge and enhancing academic skills.

The meeting addressed several important issues related to the educational process, particularly in the field of scientific research. Key topics discussed included encouraging students to attend lectures and participate actively, urging them to commit to completing university assignments within specified time frames, and praising the efforts of faculty members for their continuous support of students, especially in the area of scientific research.

Dr. Al-Zoabi stressed the significance of the Islamic economics and banking specialization and its vital role at both academic and practical levels. The importance of the research methodology course was highlighted as a fundamental entry point for future research, along with the necessity of using modern references that keep pace with technological and knowledge advancements.

The attendees engaged actively, proposing various suggestions aimed at developing the educational process and enhancing human resource efficiency. Notable proposals included offering specialized courses in Islamic economics and banking, organizing training sessions in research skills, providing courses on contemporary jurisprudential issues, and conducting technical training programs to enable students to utilize technology in Islamic finance.
