Dean of College of Economics and Business Holds Meeting

An important meeting was held on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at 9:30 PM Mecca time, chaired by Dr. Sherin Mamoun, Dean of the College of Economics and Business at the Islamic University of Minnesota, main center. The meeting was attended by academic department heads and heads of curriculum committees to discuss preparations and arrangements related to the project of preparing a unified university book for each course within the college.
Dr. Mamoun opened the meeting with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of this ambitious project as one of the key pillars to enhance the quality of the educational process and ensure that learning outcomes align with academic accreditation standards and student aspirations amid the rapid changes in the job market and knowledge.
She explained that preparing a unified and comprehensive university book represents a strategic step towards unifying scientific efforts across different departments and contributes to the development and updating of scientific content in line with the latest developments and changes in each specialization. She noted that this project reflects the college's commitment to providing an advanced educational environment that meets the ambitions of both the university and the students.
Dr. Mamoun also praised the efforts made by the curriculum planning unit, calling for the adoption of the approved models and guidelines that had previously been sent to the departments. At the same time, she stressed the importance of adhering to citation regulations and respecting intellectual property rights during the preparation of the books.
The floor was opened for discussion among the department heads and committee chairs, where everyone expressed their enthusiasm for the project and their readiness to work towards achieving the desired goals. Among the proposals discussed during the meeting was the adoption of standardized templates for book preparation, along with starting with "Principles" courses in each department, ensuring that chapters are arranged in a systematic and coherent manner.
The meeting concluded at 10:26 PM, with Dr. Mamoun expressing her gratitude and appreciation to those present, conveying her great confidence in their ability to complete this project in a manner befitting the college's and university's status. She emphasized that teamwork and coordination between departments would be the cornerstone of the success of this quality academic initiative.
