Expanded Meeting at College of Economics

On the evening of Monday, May 19, 2025, Dr. Shireen Mamoun, the Dean of the College of Economics and Business, held an expanded meeting with academic department heads, their deputies, and faculty members. The meeting began at 9 PM Mecca time and lasted until 10 PM.
Dr. Shireen opened the meeting with a welcoming speech, expressing her appreciation for the efforts of faculty members and welcoming new academic talents, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and integration at this stage.
The meeting covered several key topics, including motivating students and determining the scope of courses included in the final exams, as well as the grading distribution mechanism to ensure fairness in evaluating academic performance. Discussions also addressed faculty interaction with student inquiries, and the decision to set the exam duration at three hours, taking into account the nature of the subjects and assessment requirements.
In a strategic move, Dr. Shireen announced the launch of the "Unified University Textbook" project, aimed at preparing comprehensive scientific materials for each course. She noted that this project is a cornerstone of ensuring educational quality and aligning educational outcomes with academic accreditation standards.
The floor was opened for department heads and their deputies to contribute, where they expressed their readiness for the exams and confirmed their departments' preparedness. Several faculty members shared their opinions and suggestions, and their inquiries were discussed and addressed.
The meeting concluded with a thank-you speech from the dean, who emphasized the importance of continuing collaborative efforts to enhance the college's standing and improve the quality of its academic outputs.
