College of Economics Holds Meetings to Discuss Midterm Exams

The College of Economics and Business at the Islamic University of Minnesota held its fifth meeting, chaired by Dean Dr. Sherin Mamoun, on the evening of Thursday, August 7, 2025. The meeting was attended by the college council and faculty members. This gathering was part of the final preparations for the midterm exams for the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

The dean opened the meeting with a welcoming speech, expressing her gratitude to those present. Instructions regarding the exams were discussed. The exam period was set to begin on Saturday, August 9, 2025, and continue until Thursday, August 14, 2025, with each exam lasting two hours, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM Mecca time. Faculty members were also reminded of the importance of being available in their respective subject groups to respond to student inquiries and explain the grading distribution process.

During the meeting, department heads and their deputies were given the opportunity to express their readiness to conduct the exams, and faculty members' comments and suggestions were heard. At the end of the meeting, the dean reiterated her appreciation to all attendees for their cooperation and efforts in ensuring the success of the educational process.

Later, on the evening of Monday, August 11, 2025, the college held its sixth meeting, again chaired by Dean Dr. Sherin Mamoun, to discuss the opening of two new departments: the Department of Finance and Investment, and the Department of Project Management.

The dean began the meeting with a welcoming address, thanking attendees for their interest and cooperation. The agenda was reviewed, which included presenting the vision, mission, and objectives of the new departments, as well as discussing the academic plans for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs.

Members of the college council were also given the chance to provide their feedback and suggestions regarding the opening of the new departments, leading to a fruitful exchange of ideas and developmental insights. The meeting concluded with a thank-you speech from the dean to those present, acknowledging their efforts and active role in supporting the college's development and expanding its academic fields.
