The meeting, chaired by Dr. Mabrouka Hussein Hemet and attended by several faculty members, convened at 7:00 p.m. (Makkah time) to discuss mechanisms for updating curricula and improving university textbooks in alignment with approved academic standards.
Dr. Hemet opened the meeting by welcoming attendees and stressing the importance of this step in advancing the department’s academic development efforts. She emphasized that the current stage requires a clear vision and structured institutional work to update course content and produce textbooks that meet academic integrity and quality specifications.
The discussion addressed several key topics, foremost among them the announcement of forming the department’s curriculum committee and officially assigning it the task of designing course descriptions based on approved standards-an effort aimed at enhancing the efficiency and outcomes of the academic process. Practical procedures for textbook development were also reviewed, with emphasis on adherence to college-approved authorship guidelines to ensure high-quality academic content serving students across all study levels.
