Appointment of Deans of Faculty Affairs and Graduate Affairs
Doctor Omar Al-Maqrami, the Vice Chancellor of the Islamic University of Minnesota, has issued a decree appointing Associate Professor Dr. Marwan Batayneh as the Dean of Faculty Affairs and Dr. Hind Ashmawi as the Dean of Graduate Affairs at the university. Dr. Marwan holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the National University of Malaysia, as well as bachelor's and master's degrees in Educational Psychology from Yarmouk University in Jordan. Since 2015, Dr. Marwan has been working as an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology and has previously worked at several universities. He also has experience as a research consultant and psychological support advisor in various organizations. He has numerous published research papers and a published book, and he is currently a faculty member at the College of Education Sciences at the Islamic University of Minnesota, where he also serves as the Head of the Department of Educational Sciences.
In addition, another decree was issued by Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami appointing Dr. Hind Ashmawi as the Dean of Graduate Affairs at the university. Dr. Hind holds three Ph.D. degrees in Islamic Studies, Quran Sciences, and Mental Health and Family Counseling, in addition to master's degrees in Quranic Studies and Mental Health and Counseling. Dr. Hind currently works as an Associate Professor in the Department of Quranic Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota and has extensive experience in teaching and research in the fields of Quranic Studies. She has numerous research papers and publications in this field and has participated in several international Islamic conferences.
Dr. Al-Maqrami expressed his congratulations to Dr. Marwan and Dr. Hind in a post on an official WhatsApp group for faculty members, wishing them success in their new roles and affirming their ability to fulfill these significant responsibilities. He requested support from all colleges, departments, and administrative units of the university in their joint tasks to achieve the success of the university's work and the development of an excellent and supportive educational environment for faculty members and graduates.
It is expected that Dr. Marwan and Dr. Hind will work closely with the rest of the university administration, faculty members, and administrators to enhance the quality of education and achieve the university's goals. Everyone hopes that students and graduates will have an excellent educational experience and that the Islamic University of Minnesota will play a prominent role in community development and the preparation of future leaders.
