Faculty Affairs Deanship Welcomes 30 New Academics

The Faculty Affairs Deanship at the Islamic University of Minnesota has welcomed a new cohort of academics joining the faculty across various colleges and departments, with a total of 19 departments benefiting from this addition.

According to a report on the welcoming announcements made by Dr. Marwan Bataineh, Dean of Faculty Affairs, 30 new professors have joined the university this November alone. Among them, 13 academics have joined the College of Islamic Studies, including Dr. Fahd Al-Saadi from Saudi Arabia and Dr. Elias Al-Hani from Morocco in the Department of Creed and Contemporary Doctrines.

Additionally, two scholars joined the Department of Quranic Studies: Dr. Mahmoud Othman and Dr. Ahmed Omar. In the Department of Islamic Studies in Arabic, Dr. Mohammed Omar Mahmoud from Egypt has joined, while Dr. Lamiya Aql from Egypt has become part of the Department of Islamic Studies in English. In the Department of Prophetic Traditions and Its Sciences, three academics joined: Dr. Abdullah Mahidat, Dr. Emad Arafa, and Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shanawi. The Department of Call and Islamic Culture welcomed four new faculty members, including Dr. Saad Al-Otaibi from Saudi Arabia.

The College of Arts and Humanities has received six new professors, including Dr. Nahal Al-Gharaibeh in the Department of Arabic Language and Dr. Nabilah Khater in the Department of English Language and Literature. Dr. Yahya Nasht from Morocco has joined the Department of History and Archaeology, while Dr. Asma Ghuneimat has joined the Department of Political Science.

The College of Business and Economics welcomed four new faculty members, including Dr. Saad Al-Din Khalid and Dr. Mohammed Ayal Awad in the Department of Islamic Economics and Banking.

In the College of Educational Sciences, four academics joined, while the newest and youngest college, the College of Development Studies, welcomed two specialists in Disaster and Crisis Management. Finally, Dr. Hijab Al-Fawara has joined the Department of Computer Science in the College of Computing and Information Technology.

The new professors expressed their happiness about teaching at the university, highlighting their pride in joining this academic institution. Dr. Nahal Al-Gharaibeh mentioned her honor in working within the Arabic Language Department, while Dr. Elias Al-Hani emphasized his joy in being at the university.
