Meeting of Administrative Affairs Unit of Colleges

Under the chairmanship of Dr. Nourhan Salama, the Director of the Administrative Affairs Unit of the Colleges at the Islamic University of Minnesota, a meeting was held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 10 PM Mecca time, with the attendance of all unit members.

The meeting lasted for an hour and a half, during which Dr. Nourhan addressed topics related to the core responsibilities of the unit, expressing her gratitude to the team members for their efforts during the previous semesters.

Dr. Nourhan discussed the role of the college director in coordinating with the dean, department heads, and the college secretary, emphasizing the importance of responding to inquiries from faculty members and students, and guiding them to their respective college and department secretaries to ensure their well-being.

She stressed the importance of monitoring college and faculty members' groups to stay informed, as well as ensuring the presence of the college secretary daily and following up on the progress of lectures. Furthermore, she highlighted the necessity of submitting requests for meetings at least one day in advance during official working hours to facilitate proper arrangements.

Dr. Nourhan also reviewed the status of the archive on the drive, pointing out specific observations related to updating the college's databases, department files, and faculty members' records, including those for the new portal. She addressed the need to inventory appointment decisions requiring renewal and the issuance of experience certificates, coordinating this with the Dean of Faculty Affairs, Associate Professor Marwan Zaid Batayneh.

She encouraged members to follow up with department heads regarding their management of self-learning groups with students, as well as to maintain administrative oversight of the Dean of Academic and Educational Affairs, Dr. Osama Abdulrahman, in his follow-up with department heads concerning self-learning management groups.

The director listened to the members as they discussed their respective colleges regarding schedules and departments with self-learning programs. They reviewed all of their observations and inquiries regarding shared courses, seconded faculty members, and the status of their records, including the departure and reinstatement of faculty members in the groups, distinguishing between course withdrawal and resignation, among other matters. The director noted the awareness, seriousness, and commitment demonstrated by all members.

Attending the meeting were: Dr. Badia Abdulqader, Administrative Affairs Officer for the College of Media; Ms. Hanadi Abdullah, Administrative Affairs Officer for the College of Computer Science and Information Technology; Ms. Anisa Al-Zekri, Administrative Affairs Officer for the College of Islamic Studies; Ms. Samira Al-Saghir, Administrative Affairs Officer for the College of Arts and Humanities; Ms. Maryam Mohammed Abdulrahman, Administrative Affairs Officer for the College of Sharia and Law; Ms. Banan Saif, Administrative Affairs Officer for the College of Economics and Business Administration; and Ms. Khadija Redman, Administrative Affairs Officer for the College of Development Studies.
