Academic and Research Achievements of Faculty Members

The Islamic University of Minnesota has recently witnessed a series of remarkable academic and research accomplishments by its faculty members, reflecting the university’s strong international presence and consolidating its role in advancing scientific research and knowledge dissemination.

Climate Conference in Indonesia

The university congratulated Dr. Eid Al-Harhasha for representing the university at the Conference on Climate and Solutions from an Islamic Perspective, held in Indonesia. According to the university’s statement, this participation-from Jordan to Indonesia-embodied the commitment of Muslim scholars to linking science with religion and highlighting environmental solutions inspired by the principles of Islam, thereby reinforcing the university’s mission to contribute to contemporary global issues.

International Conference in Morocco

The university also extended its sincere appreciation to Dr. Fatima Jumaa Al-Wahsh for her distinguished participation in the 12th International Refereed Scientific Conference, organized by the World Association of Scholars and Researchers in Morocco in cooperation with Ajloun National University in Jordan. Dr. Al-Wahsh presented a research paper entitled “Artificial Intelligence in Islamic Jurisprudence from a Maqasid Perspective.” The university noted that the paper reflects a mature scholarly vision addressing modern technological issues with sound Islamic foundations.

Outstanding Research Contributions

The university congratulated Dr. Shaimaa Khattab, Director of the Scientific Research Unit, for publishing two scientific papers under her name:

- The Impact of Technology Use in Education in Sub-Saharan Africa”

- Egypt and the Fifth Industrial Revolution: Towards a New Understanding of Discoveries and the Oil Industry”

In its message, the university praised her efforts as a “confident scholarly approach to contemporary issues” that enrich the university’s research output and strengthen its academic standing.

International and Regional Publications

Several faculty members also had their research published in distinguished academic journals: 

Dr. Ali El-Shboul, Director of the Center for Latin American Studies and the Center for Languages, published a paper titled “Geography and Historical Memory in the Poetry of Dulce María Loynaz” in Cátedra, a journal issued by the University of Panama (Issue 22/2025).

Dr. Mamdouh Awad Mufleh Al-Enezi, Associate Professor at the College of Educational Sciences, published a study entitled “Professional Development of University Faculty in Saudi Arabia in Light of Digital Education Requirements: Reality, Challenges, and Burdens” in the Journal of the Faculty of Education, Kafr El-Sheikh University (Issue 118/2025).

Dr. Hend Mahrous Mohammed Al-Jeldawi and Dr. Hadi Mohammed Hussein Barham from the Department of Political Science co-authored a paper entitled “Crimes Against Humanity as International Crimes” published in African Studies Journal (Issue 20/2025).

Dr. Imad Al-Din Hussein Bahr Al-Din, also from the Department of Political Science, published a paper titled “Foresight into the Future of the Conflict between the Hausa and Hamaj Tribes in the Blue Nile Region” in the same journal issue.
