Educational Rooms Unit Holds Two Expanded Technical Sessions to Support Faculty Members on the "Zoom" Platform
The Islamic University of Minnesota - Main Center, held two specialized technical sessions via the "Zoom" platform on Sunday and Tuesday, corresponding to January 4 and 6, 2026. These sessions were initiated by the Educational Rooms and Recordings Unit, in close cooperation with the Deanships of Faculty Affairs and Academic & Educational Affairs, with the aim of addressing technical challenges faced by faculty members while delivering online lectures.
The sessions were overseen by Dr. Norhan Salama, Dean of Faculty Affairs, in coordination with Dr. Osama Abdelrahman, Dean of Academic and Educational Affairs. The meetings witnessed active participation and notable attendance from faculty members across various colleges, reflecting a shared interest in resolving technical obstacles.
Engineer Mohamed Abduljawad, Director of the Educational Rooms and Recordings Unit, provided comprehensive and direct technical support throughout the sessions. Discussions were opened to receive inquiries and identify live issues, particularly those related to audio quality, screen sharing, and managing virtual lecture halls, with immediate and practical solutions offered on the spot.
This initiative aimed to provide quick and effective solutions, empowering teaching staff to use the platform's tools professionally, ensuring the smooth and high-quality delivery of the online educational process.
It is noteworthy that the Deanship had previously directed faculty members to benefit from a professional training course on using "Zoom" and had prepared a survey to identify the most common technical problems, which helped focus the discussions in these sessions on the most pressing and impactful issues.
This step falls within the university's ongoing strategy to enhance the technical infrastructure for distance learning, support faculty capabilities, and elevate the standard of digital education to meet the requirements of the era.
