Islamic University of Minnesota Hosts Cultural Evening on the Occasion of the First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah

Minnesota, June 7, 2024 - The Dean's Office of Graduate Studies at the Islamic University of Minnesota Main Campus held a cultural evening on the occasion of the first day of the ten days of Dhul Hijjah, targeting graduating students and those nearing graduation.

The evening began with a welcoming speech by the Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Hind Saif Al Nasr Ashmawi, followed by a speech by the University's Vice President, Dr. Omar Al-Maqrami, who praised Dr. Hind and congratulated the graduating students on the end of the summer semester.

Dr. Al-Maqrami emphasized the importance of the role of the student in conveying the message of knowledge to the world, and mentioned that the university administration is harnessing what it has for this student to fulfill the trust. He also praised the position that the university has occupied in terms of the quality of the educational service it provides, confirming that the faculty members are among the most qualified personnel in their specializations.

Dr. Hind then delivered the evening's lecture entitled "How We Can Win the Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah," followed by a "Dialogue with a Graduate" segment with graduate Adala Ibrahim.

The cultural evening concluded with an open meeting between the graduates and Dr. Al-Maqrami, where he answered all the graduates' questions and inquiries and commented on their interventions.

The story of a student in the College of Media with the Islamic University of Minnesota Main Center, where he decided to study for a master's and doctorate in the field of media after his surprisingly positive impression of the level of study.

An intervention by the Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Osama Abdulrahman, who spoke about the student Adala Ibrahim, who insisted on continuing her studies despite the circumstances of the war in Sudan, confirming that the university pays great attention to the student even after graduation.

A thank-you message from the Master's graduate from the Department of Jurisprudence and its Fundamentals, student Abdulrahman Mahmoud, who was accepted to study for a doctorate at the French-Arab African University in the Republic of Mali based on a joint cooperation agreement between the Islamic University of Minnesota and the French-Arab African University.

A thank-you message from Omar Rizq Allah, a doctoral student, who expressed his hope that the Ministry of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia would approve the graduation documents issued by the university.

A proposal to create student groups at the university level, and that there be a club for graduates.

Dr. Al-Maqrami responded to Omar Rizq Allah's intervention by focusing on the issue of accreditation in Saudi Arabia, confirming that the university is sparing no effort in this regard and will not spare any effort. He pointed out that many requests come to the university with the aim of verifying the documents of students who have applied for jobs in institutions, and they are accepted based on the university's response to these requests and meeting the necessary data and information.

The Dean of Academic Affairs also commented on what was mentioned in the Vice President's response to Omar Rizq Allah's intervention, confirming that there are prestigious schools in Saudi Arabia that have a list of universities that are welcome for appointment, and that our university is already on some of these lists.

At the end of the evening, one of the students suggested creating student groups at the university level, and that there be a club for graduates. The Vice President responded by talking about the existing Graduate Affairs Association, reminding everyone of its great benefit to graduates in terms of exchanging experiences and benefits that concern their future after graduation.
