Islamic University of Minnesota Organizes Training Course for Faculty Members

In anticipation of the upcoming first semester of the new academic year, and under the slogan "We Do Not Wait for Excellence; We Create It!", the Islamic University of Minnesota, main center, organized a training course consisting of two workshops to prepare both new and experienced faculty members on Sunday and Monday, June 15 and 16, 2025.
The course was organized by the Quality and Development Unit in collaboration with the Deanship of Information Technology and the Deanship of Faculty Affairs, featuring an exceptional training program specifically designed for faculty members to confidently and professionally embark on their academic teaching journey.
The program included practical steps to familiarize participants with the new smart portal, easy utilization of university systems, and smart preparation to guide faculty members on the right track from day one, enabling them to master university systems and contribute to institutional excellence.
The first workshop was titled "Digital Empowerment through the New Educational Portal," presented by Engineer Ali Mustafa, Deputy Director of the Technology Deanship, with participation from Ms. Marwa Qasem, Director of the Deanship of Information Technology, and Dr. Fatima Jumaa Al-Wahsh, Director of the Quality and Development Unit. It ran from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Mecca time and focused on how to log into the new portal professionally, attend lectures via Zoom directly, access courses and student lists smoothly, upload assignments and correct them with the ability to add comments, and easily upload summaries.
The second workshop, titled "Preparing New Faculty Members," aimed to empower academic staff to engage effectively in the university work environment and equip them with the essential tools and skills to confidently and competently start their teaching careers. This workshop was presented by Dr. Mahrous Sulaiman, a faculty member at the university, and was managed by Dr. Fatima Jumaa Al-Wahsh and Dr. Nourhan Salama, Dean of Faculty Affairs. It took place from 8:00 to 10:00 PM Mecca time.
The course received various expressions of praise and appreciation from the faculty members, who expressed their sincere gratitude to the organizers. Those who missed the sessions were eager to obtain the video recordings, which were distributed for each workshop.
Among the expressions of thanks shared by faculty members was: "Peace be upon you. I extend my utmost gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this course with such a wealth of knowledge. Honestly, it was a wonderfully organized and presented course, and the portal offers high capabilities. Day by day, I am increasingly impressed by this tremendous effort, and I ask Allah to make me worthy of your aspirations."
It is noteworthy that the university has a tradition of organizing these courses before each semester to prepare new faculty members on the technologies, tools, methods, and means of electronic university education, integrating them into its academic environment to ensure the quality and smoothness of the educational process.
