Achievements of the Information Technology Deanship

The Director of the Information Technology Deanship at the Islamic University of Minnesota, Ms. Marwa Qasem Abdulwas'a, announced the accomplishments of the deanship team since the launch of the new academic system at the beginning of the summer semester, during which data for 3,064 students was uploaded.
She explained that the team entered files and data for 606 faculty members and registered 1,414 courses. Additionally, detailed grades for all students over the past three years were entered, covering more than 822 courses, with 41,878 entries for undergraduate grades and 11,796 entries for graduate grades. The team also uploaded study plans for all levels (77 plans so far) and course descriptions (342 so far).
Regarding the Admissions and Registration Deanship portal, the director confirmed that her team developed and transferred it to the new portal, enabling automated issuance of acceptance notifications and tracking of registration applications. The media center portal was also prepared to issue notifications, and a document management section was created to generate documents automatically.
Ms. Marwa added that the team developed the automated testing and grading system, allowing for the creation of customized tests, and established a smart system to save students' answers in case of internet outages. They also provided a service to send grades directly to students after MCQ tests.
The team developed the cost system to allow faculty members to send and correct costs, as well as the attendance system, which included a special system for secretaries to enter absences. A system for evaluating students on lectures and courses, as well as faculty members, was also provided, along with linking the portal to an email system to send notifications.
The director noted that these achievements resulted from 6,480 hours of work by the deanship team, consisting of four members, and 1,250 hours of work by the programming team, also consisting of four members.
In conclusion, Ms. Marwa emphasized that the development of the electronic portal is an important step toward improving the experience of e-learning and university management, reflecting the commitment of the Information Technology Deanship to provide innovative solutions that support students and faculty members.
