Department of Da'wah Meeting: Achievements of the Previous Semester and New Aspirations
The faculty of the Department of Da'wah and Islamic Culture at the College of Islamic Studies held a meeting chaired by Dr. Taha Al-Johari, Head of the Department, on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
The Head of the Department opened the meeting by welcoming the members of the department and congratulating them on the new semester. He also welcomed the new members before opening the discussion on the department's goals and policies.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Johari reviewed the department's achievements in the previous semester, praising the efforts made by the faculty members that resulted in the success of the educational process in the summer semester.
Dr. Al-Johari stressed the need for full commitment to lecture schedules and prescribed curricula to ensure the achievement of educational goals. He also emphasized the need to avoid controversial issues during lectures and highlighted the importance of preparing academic materials in advance, using presentation programs such as PowerPoint to facilitate the educational process, and following up on attendance and seeking excuses for students with special circumstances.
The meeting agreed on the necessity of providing assignments to students during the semester to motivate them to learn. They also agreed to prepare two models for the semester exam and submit them to the Head of the Department as soon as possible. Dr. Al-Johari instructed the members to contact the administrators in case of problems related to students and to contact the Head of the Department for problems related to professors.
The meeting discussed proposals for activities to be carried out by the department to improve its efficiency and level within the college. The meeting concluded with a set of recommendations and decisions, most notably the commitment to the academic action plan for the current semester, the implementation of the proposed initiatives to improve academic and administrative performance, and the preparation and submission of semester exam models on time.
